Mosites Construction Company was hired to perform an adaptive re-use of the Olympic-size swimming pool building housed in Mellon Hall. The new bold design required a handicapped-accessible entrance to serve both the Mellon Board Room and existing Broadcast Studio. The entrance required significant reconfiguration of the landscape in order to meet the requirements for accessible paths. The sandstone terrace balustrade and other upper terrace materials were replaced by hand with limestone.
A new lower patio was configured to wrap the building, providing outdoor spaces to compliment the new adapted facility. Site grading was lowered to provide needed natural light into the space.

Inside, the Guastavino ceiling and walls were repaired and re-grouted. New lighting, arch topped openings, windows, carpeting, and fabric-covered acoustic wall panels were installed along with a new mechanical and electrical systems.
